Error: Filename is not valid when opening a file due to name exceeding limits.

Filename is not valid.
Cause:
This problem occurs because the name and the path of the file exceed 219 characters. Note that the drive name, folder names, the backslash characters between folders, and the filename itself are all included in the count. This limitation is by design of Microsoft Excel.
Solution:
Rename the file, the folders, or the subfolders so that the path and the filename do not exceed the limit.
1) If the message is still displayed, click 'OK' to dismiss the message.
2) Open the 'My Computer' icon from the Windows 95 desktop.

3) Locate the file, folder, or subfolder to be renamed.
NOTE: Double-click on a folder to open its subfolders.
4) Select (click on) the file, folder, or subfolder to be renamed.
5) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Rename'.
6) Type the new name.
7) Press ENTER.
NOTE: Make sure the new name has fewer characters than the previous one.
